The Shannon's Naval Brigade with 6 8-inch guns and four field pieces left Calcutta for the NW Province Aug 13 1857. Served at the Battle of Kedjiva October, 1857; Relief of Lucknow, Nov 1857; Defeat of the Gwalior Contingent, Dec 1857; Battle of Kallee-Nuddee, Jan 1858; Capture of Lucknow, March 1858, and returned to the Shannon 1858.
