Lieut Edward Shadwell Hickman, born 15 Dec 1858, died 20 Aug 1882 on board HMS Orontes in the Mediterranean. Lieut Walter Dyson Marshall, born 1859, died Bournemouth, 17 Nov 1882. Hickman served on HMS Lord Warden from 4 May 1879 to 30 Sep 1881, Marshall from 1 Oct 1881 to 21 Jul 1882.
To the memory of Lieuts E S Hickman and W D S Marshall, RMA, who died from the effects of service in the Egyptian Campaign, 1882. Erected by Capt R P Calor and officers of HMS Lord Warden their former shipmates.
