This cross is erected by the inhabitants of Hinton in grateful memory of those connected with this village who sacrificed their lives in defence of King and Country in the Great War of 1914-1919. They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old, Age shall not weary them bor the years condem, At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We shall remember them.
