AM+DG, This pulpit is given by William Pyle of Hoegate and his wife and family in proud and loving memory of their eldest son and brother George Wallace gunner RMA who died of wounds received at Wassigny nr St Quentin on 12 October 1918 and whose body lies at Vadencourt Cemetery, France, aged 23 years. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends, John 15.13
